The Revlon Girl

4th - 11th September

On 21st October 1966 one of the 7 coal tips above the mining village of Aberfan suddenly slipped down the hill. The slurry flowed over 2 farms, glanced off the secondary school then, catastrophically, hit Pantglas Junior school and a row of houses. It was 9.15 am, the day before half term.
The Revlon Girl is set 8 months after this disaster and follows a group of bereaved mothers who meet every week in a room above a local hotel to talk, cry and laugh without feeling guilty. At one of their meetings, they admit how much they’ve let themselves go. Afraid people would think this frivolous, they secretly arrange for a representative from Revlon to come and give them a talk on beauty tips.
All the above is true,
The characters in the play are fictional.
The Revlon Girl is about how these women find their individual ways back from their losses. It’s a superbly crafted drama, ultimately full of hope, resilience, survival and looking to the future. It’s moving and funny and the women are all amazing in their different ways. All the roles are superbly drawn, the characters well rounded, all very different. Definitely a play for actresses to get their teeth in to.
The Importance of Being Earnest

The Importance of Being Earnest is a glorious comedy of mistaken identity, which ridicules codes of propriety and etiquette.
It is a farcical comedy depicting the tangled affairs of two young men about town who lead double lives to evade unwanted social obligations, both assuming the name Ernest while wooing the two young women of their affections.
