Following the sell-out success of “Twentysomething” in October 2016, Breakwater Theatre Company returns to the Caxton Theatre this October, for one night only. “Legend” is a brand-new play written by award-winning writer, Andy Evans. It is a one-man show, set atop the roof of a terraced house in a down-at-heel, Northern town. Lee is a troubled young man who has fled to the rooftop to escape. He needs to escape from the police, he needs to escape from violence, he needs to escape from his life and up-bringing. Up on the roof, we learn of Lee’s life and circumstances, his hopes and dreams. We learn what has driven him to take to the skies and what he hopes to achieve. We witness drama, humour and humility. And Lee learns the consequences of his action. Inspired by real-life stories, “Legend” does not seek to glorify or excuse this action, instead it seeks to explore the consequences of actions taken.
